Akita - How to make it socialise with other dogs?

Sorry, I don't have any set advice. I have a ten year old Akita and Rott mixed. She is very territorial so therefore is hard to train a dog that has this instinct. She has killed a dog when we moved in the suburbs for only a couple of months. As far as walking, she is everywhere under your feet and if she sees something, you do have to hold her back. It has been 10 years and I haven't had any luck. I can keep her from going after another dog just by authoritative command. She is the sweetest dog though. She helps round up the horses etc. I don't trust her around young children. It is like you have to almost adjust to her nature and always be kind, they can respond badly to incorrect discipline.
