What was it?

okay so i had my period and it was really weird....it was really light at first then heavy and then quit for a day then came back for a few hours!! Plus during the middle of it i pulled my tampon out to change it and there was a rectangle looking thing like blood but it was like gummy looking iv never seen something like that before does anyone know what it could of been?
