What can i do with my friends on new years eve?

we are all 16/17 and want to do something fun. my parents won't let us have a party because they don't like it when we get loud and they are sleeping. any ideas? i want to spend new years eve with a lot of friends and have fun. i was thinking of renting a hall and dj and having a dance party thing. any other ideas that are not too expensive?
